Assuming you had a choice of what company to work at without having to worry about TC or WLB, which company fascinates you the most and is solving problems that interest you. For me, it would probably be a company like Uber, Doordash or GoPuff because they’re trying to solve an almost unsolvable problem of trying to make a supply/demand marketplace profitable while having competitors. I also find the logistics behind running a real world company at this scale very interesting. The things I find most cool about these companies are the economics and the fact that the code we write enables people the movement of people efficiently. I can’t say the same for a company like LinkedIn where the main objective is to serve as a medium for “inspirational” content. I’ve heard the TC and WLB are good at LinkedIn but I’d probably be bored out of my mind at a company like that. Other companies I find interesting are B2B SAAS companies like Shopify or Shopify apps. What companies interest you?
1. My own company. 2. Gaming industry! Working is playing!
If you think gaming industry is good and that working is playing then I encourage you to join.
I am in already, actually enjoy it every day.
LinkedIn. I actually really like helping friends with resumes and interview prep

Spotify, huge music consumer since childhood, my most beloved app 🥰
I like both Google and Microsoft. I think it would be amazing to learn from the companies that essentially defined software engineering as we know it today. I also love that they partner with academia and publish research that furthers our field. As a bit of a nerd myself I would absolutely love to do some kind of research with software engineering and get paid for it. If not them then I actually really enjoy service opportunities at certain nonprofits and in state government agencies that desperately need skilled professionals but can't afford to pay them very much.
Sony PlayStation
Something with healthcare
Epic system is hybrid in Minesota and pays like 85k
But I will look at the other one, thanks!

You don't care about TC but still just pick VC tech companies in that scenario? If you really care about logistics and moving people at scale you would work foe the pentagon. They make private industry look like child's play.
The tech stack at the pentagon is too antiquated and things in government move too slow. I like innovative environments where building is the main objective.
