What compensation to ask for 4+ years experience firmware engineer ? Onsite @micron next week.
What would be good compensation package to ask for a senior firmware position with 4+ years @ #micron#longmont ? Also, i know the pay would be better for software but is sticking to firmware better for job security ?
On a separate note, you should also interview at the SSD FW team at Western Digital. As of now WD and Micron are in a battle to get the talents so this will help you tremendously in getting good counters.
As for comp, I can’t say about Micron, but for WD, you could get $130k base pay for a Staff position with 4 YOE, so I guess at Micron you might get similar or more at least.
Look up Glassdoor. Micron/WD are legacy companies. Recently Micron has been poaching WD people so now their comp is a bit better. But apart from that comp across memory industry is not that good. Also Micron is based in Boise so their comp structure is a bit old school too

Wut I'm getting 140k base with 2yoe. Micron can't be that low
