Saw this job at Doordash and I was curious what day to day work like for a developer advocate? https://boards.greenhouse.io/doordash/jobs/3322953?gh_jid=3322953 Also are their TC same as SWE? TC: 500k #engineering #software
They advocate
You can google that. Search for devrel, developer relations and developer advocate. Be warned that you are more likely to find woke people in devrel positions. That is, people who believe that changing master branch to main somehow helps reduce social injustice. Many of them create a pile of pebbles to move and then feel like they moved a mountain.
Glad they're coming up with roles like these in the market so I know who to stay miles away from.
Sounds like a good role with less work Decent pay I assume. Can spend time on Netflix and get paid
I'm in devrel. Here were my salaries New Relic: 183k TC Left that company. My TC was 180k base at my next DevRel job. I left after only 2 months Bc manager was toxic as hell. I just received 2 job offers this week: Company A: Sr Dev Rel 190k TC Company B: 200k base 50k stock options TC 250k. I chose company A Bc I want to move into management. I absolutely love this niche. I get to travel the world. Speak at conferences. Write technical content for a living and make a ton of new friends. But it is easy to burn out. There’s no true definition as to what DevRel should do.
You might want to remove some of this info as it makes you more easily identifiable. Just a friendly heads up. 👍
just like he saying not everyone scurred to speak in front of camera, not everyone scurred to be known in public either
Speaking of TC...did you forget something in your post? Sincerely, woohoogler
