Thinking of spending 30-50k on a rig. Can't decide. The taco seems well rounded and great off road capability but is a bit too small and a bit too car like. But I could get a manual which is a big plus. The rebel looks great but I don't know much about them. Raptor is kind of the no brainier choice but at 50k you're not getting a well spec'd out one. Finally kinda feel like a diesel 2500 or 3500 is just awesome. Especially if you can get a manual. Really can't decide.
Taco ftw.
Buy a used truck, spend like 20k on it, then spend 20-30k to tune the truck, lift, new lights, suspension, hydraulics, etc...etc...
What dumb advice, how about reselling it?
Nah. I'm a big believer in buying used but not a truck in this market unless we're talking $3000 beater. The used market for trucks is really stupid now and at any value price you're getting somebody else's beat up rig or project.
That's like the perfect place to ask 🙂
Used diesel truck prices are ASTRONOMICAL. It’s senseless to buy preowned. Just buy new if you’re going diesel and plan on adjusting your budget. 65k range for an F250, Lariat, SuperCrew, 4x4 with the PowerStroke. The whole used market is kinda like that right now. You can get a new Tundra TRD Pro for around $50k
I've heard bad things about the Ford diesels. I'd probably be going with the Cummins if I go down the diesel route. There's actually a two year old low mileage 3500 Cummins near me for 40k and it's a manual. But yeah used prices are stupid
Yes stay away from model year 2011 Fords with 6.7L PowerStroke diesel. Glow plugs are 2-piece and snap off, engine eats the mess and voila $17k for a new long block. Either go new or the Cummins is a good idea. $40k sounds about right for a late model Cummins. Check out CarGurus.com to shop prices new and used. Great site if you want to get people to price match.
no matter what you get, it’s not getting any bigger.
Taco FTW. Mine is a DCLB 4x4
Just keep waiting for a Tesla truck and in the meantime invest that 50k.
Nah. I can wait till Elon makes a truck. I can't wait till he figures out how to make panels that fit
4 door Rangers are also now available in the US market
No they aren’t

Taco, much easier to park than larger trucks, major consideration if you live in any city and are using this as a daily driver not a work vehicle. "Too small" you mean the cab? Or you just want something vanity-sized?
Bit of both lol. But yeah the cab feels kinda small. Just feels like a midsize SUV.
