Why I Find Free Palestine Inspiring
I have been researching TC a few times these past years and often the first stop is Glassdoor, Paysa etc. Every time I am shocked at how low these figures are compared to the offers I eventually got. I am talking 2x or 3x the TC quoted on Glassdoor. This has actually been quite dangerous as it prompted low expectations on my side and led me to believe I was getting a sweet deal when the offer came in higher. Have others had the same experience? Or maybe I am just not using Glassdoor correctly...
I had once heard that HR of various companies would also post very low numbers there to pull the average down
Lololol savage
That was actually my first thought as well... but it sounds really pizzagate-ish
I recently experienced this too. If you click into the salary often there is a bonus and stock component and all of those combined give a bit better expectation.
Glassdoor is a paid out site. Companies get bad reviews hidden and they also post low TC.
Evidence for companies hiding bad reviews? It makes sense that they can add low TC numbers
Bad reviews appear lower in search results
Use the LinkedIn Salary tool instead
Thanks. Much more accurate. I didn’t bother earlier since LinkedIn salary is blocked in Europe apparently. But I got in via VPN.
Of course, Glassdoor is useless and should be the last thing one should look at. I was about to reject a potential offer because Glassdoor showed company will pay 28$ per hour. Nevertheless decided to let the offer come first. It was 51$ per hour. RIP Glassdoor
Accepted a low offer from oracle as I was naive to ask based on Glassdoor numbers
How low?
120k for ic3
Historical data over the years drags down the average
Base. Those numbers seem like just base. Concept of tc is not so much a thing before Blind I guess. Or outside Blind.
Not sure that’s true. RSU and bonus appears to be included. Or the survey wasn’t filled out correctly. I am looking at Tech companies specifically.
Yes. I am too. Not really all of them so the average out to base. Also remember leveling is not there so you are down to just knowing the average. I haven’t checked it for a long time but now knowing more about tc and levels, I say mostly l4 people. There are also difference in location.
