Indian here, living in a pretty posh area. Today I went shopping for my family and the cashier just billed and let the clothes be. He didn't even fold them. And there were a lot of clothes. I was really pissed off. My children and I folded and kept the clothes in my bag. The cashier just kept looking. I haven't faced this sort of "service" even in the UK or USA. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm stunned with the barrage of silly excuses in the comments section. One of the worst people who defend racism by either justifying it, or by looking the other way. Canada is really going down the gutter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And the victim shaming, racists comments just don't seem to stop at all. That cashier was clearly not the outlier. The Canadian society in general has become xenophobic and racist.
How did you attribute that to racism?
Didn't do the same with the White customers
White people are very high maintenance and complain about everything. I think they just don't want to deal with it. Another way to look at it is minorities don't expect the world given to them over a small purchase
Canada has poor service compared to the rest of the world. I visited Detroit with a friend and I was amazed at the level of attention and service at random pizza parlours.
He could tell you were a soft techie who posts on blind, so didn't like you
Maybe post a Google review. Blind is blind.
Wtf! You should have asked him to do the job. Or escalated to manager.
Everyone’s a victim
Try touching grass.
Why do you assume it's racism? Maybe it's a lazy worker, maybe service is different in Canada, maybe the worker doesn't like you for non-race-related reasons
That's why silent racism is the best way to express. Cowardly act, which can be brushed aside with excuses
Imagine thinking the cashier will understand your concern if you just stare at them and say nothing. Ask next time
