What's the point of giving all 3 apps the same features? They are supposed to be unique in their own sense, people want to limit WhatsApp to family, Instagram to close friends and Facebook non existent I beleive. I hate to see the channels features in WhatsApp it's very annoying, do they really conduct a survey before making major decisions like this.. I really want to understand who puts these ideas in the first place to make WA, FB and insta the same Anyone feels the same?#tech #messenger #channels
Different age group and reach for each. Serve as many ads as you can.
lol, I work on this channel product. It worked really well in IG (more people are coming back regularly and spending more time on the app) so other apps are trying to repo the successes. Those app serve a different audience (demographics, countries). They still each have their own main selling points. FB on friend graph / older generation. IG on photo / younger generation. WhatsApp/Messenger complement each other in different countries (say Indians use WhatsApp, Philippines use Messenger, etc)
Easy for the individuals everywhere to justify their PSC by copying features. Everyone gets impact. It’s a reflection of stagnation inside 20 y/o tech giants. They really don’t know what to do anymore.
Each app is serving different user base, different time spent. The idea is to make people waste as much time as possible on social media. Make sure to have audience on meta apps as much time as possible. Reusing the same feature across different apps is not that difficult thing but the benefits are huge.
