Joining VMware recently. From your experience, when Broadcom will let VMware employees and business units impacted know about their layoffs? Right before the deal is completed? Or a few months after the deal is completed? I mean the first round of layoff normally the biggest... And for employees who can keep their jobs at VMware, I understand that Broadcom will re-evaluate all current compensations and sending out new offer letters with highly likely lower compensation? #vmware #broadcom #symantec #catechnologies #layoff

Israeli precision-guided munition likely killed group of children playing foosball in Gaza, weapons experts say
The day they happen
They said they only need 4 major products, rest all are going away
I missed that part? Lol i heard they mentioned EUC? CarbonBlack? What else?
They need vcenter vsan vrealize and cloud . They have similar product to carbon black so that is getting sold to someone else or completely eliminated
When brcm says they are going to rebrand the brcm sw group to vmw - I wouldn’t be so pessimistic. This is similar to the avgo acquisition of classic brcm where they chose to rebrand to brcm - almost all revenue producing businesses with a good operating margin had a smooth transition. Compensation has only been onwards and upwards since the days of classic brcm.
Still. Totally different cultures. Vmware has way too many employees for their revenue. To get to the 8.5b EBITDA in 3 years, they need to cut 70% folks.
You are right and they will
It’s safe to say 50% of VMware employees will be sacked in the near-term. But at least all the execs got a few extra million for selling out. Thanks Raghu!
And make competition even more happier
Nutanix cohesity rubrik employees will be really happy
Say goodbye to CB, MAPBU and anything else that doesn’t make good money Right Now From what it sounded to me all they want is the costumer base and the core business
CB? Full form please :)
CB is Carbon Black
Should be announced in the next hour.
Bruh u serious
Expecting around 20,000 - 25,000 layoffs from vmware within 6-9 months
^^ This
I am expecting 10,000 initially. Then slowly they will layoff more
How about CIBG org?
~5K employees in that BU...expect chop of ~2K from that BU
40% lay off seems a bit excessive for BU that they r interested in. At least 500 leaves by end of year. So if anything they might have to lay off another 500, those who work on products that don’t make money.
Anything about MAMBG or CMBU
Tanzu isn't very profitable yet iirc, so I imagine they'll be hit pretty hard. 90%+ of vRealize revenue is tied to the bundle, so it's possible they may keep some of those products around as value-adds. But I can also see them axing the whole suite.
how is vRNI in vRealize?
Can they actually lower people's TC?
Lol.
I’ve been through mergers and never seen this happen.
