Which technical skills are desired?

Long story short, I’ve been with Amazon for 4.5 years. I’m an L6 and have worked mainly on backend/ML products. I’m tech leading a team that has built event-driven pipelines to scale to 100,000 tps, made ML models on top of petabytes worth of data using Spark, created RESTful apis to expose data to customers in real-time, etc. Amazon is the only company I’ve worked at. I have two job offers right now. StubHub as a staff engineer where I would basically do similar stuff I’ve done at Amazon. Rippling as a staff engineer where I would focus more on product with the expectation to become a “general manager” of a new product. StubHub will continue my delivery of large systems whereas Rippling will make me learn and develop product skills. As an fyi, the team at Rippling seems like they don’t know how systems work under the hood and just integrate with the infra team’s stuff. I’m leaning towards Rippling since it is a new set of skills but I don’t know if this is a naive move. Any thoughts on what would be a better career advancement would be appreciated since this is my first move. Note staying at Amazon is feasible but my comp with a D&S would likely only go up to 450K. YOE: 4.5 Current TC: 400K Rippling TC @ current valuation: 500k StubHub TC @ current valuation: 525k
