Google fan here. I really love most of what you do and believe that if it wasn't for Google things would be quite different for smartphone users (Apple paid hell) and engineers (back to the dark room earning pennies unless you climb the ladder up to higher management). But Jesus Christ Google Rooms is so bad it is funny. Can't you guys simply copy Slack? #Google
What are you talking about. Back in our day gtalk was a rave

I’m finding most google products suck. There are good features hidden in them all but overall the products blow. Gmail on mobile browser for example won’t revert back to list position if you “back” from email detail. It takes you to the top of the page. Wtf. Menus are not intuitive, touch on mobile is too sensitive to be useable, etc. G had gone downhill with all the soccer Friday’s and massage Wednesday’s and boba Monday’s. TC there I’m sure is great. But with a hodgepodge of features smashed into a screen with no continuity the experience of g leaves lots to be desired.
Who the fuck uses gmail in a browser?
Is that an excuse for a shut Ux? Maybe for the Mo’s at ancestry.
Google has very poor product sense as many above have pointed out. One of the few companies that makes me upset using the products.
Google drawing (which is the suggested tool for fb system design interviews) feels like an abandoned product that never left beta. No UX concern whatsoever, and this echoes on many other products. What are they even doing?
Engineer-driven culture, a.k.a. Not Invented Here syndrome.
You just described every major tech company, but yeah, I agree.
