Uber has been a public company for almost 5 years. Yet it almost didn’t grow. It didn’t even outperform inflation. However, I think the growth of revenue and user looks great. But the stock is just 🤡 It is disappointing actually. Many people joined Uber years ago with high expectation. What do you say?
Low margin business, cannot be trading for sw company pe ratio
Bad history, but recent results indicate that a brighter future is ahead! CEO has promised that the business will become GAAP profitable this year and then ads will continue to grow and expand the margins One could argue that the pessimism that some still have for $UBER is beneficial to buyers who are building positions before this turning point fully materializes. This pessimism is fading though and there are a lot of buyers now
CEO has promised a lot, since IPO. But here we are, still hoping for his promises.
Let me know if you want to make a wager on this one. You can take the position that we won’t be GAAP profitable this year and we can use 40/60 odds to give you a larger payout if the promise doesn’t hold true
Uber has been a $#!? company for as long as anyone can remember now. The fact that they manage to hemorrhage cash at this level is just one of many symptoms of bad corporate governance and (presumably) bad technical leadership. They'll be around for decades, because companies take a lifetime to die, but I can't imagine them ever being relevant.
I have opposite view. By far, it's one of the best stocks in last one year when market fell badly and many stocks were thrown back 5-6yrs.
They ipoed at 70b like 5 years ago
Long term
Uber never made a profit
I have calls on Uber before earnings
Haven’t they doubled in the last year ? That’s a phenomenal rally .
Only after getting dropping 50% the year before that! Soooo flat movement over two years. Wait, did I say two? I meant four (since IPO)
^ Tell me a company that didn't drop 50% the year before... Uber tanked hard because of covid the last 4 years. All ride share and travel companies did. We're out of that now and a mild recession is even going to give us an extra boost. Uber is going to moon from here onward.
It needs to grow revenue without growing it’s SG&A as much if it ever wants to be in the black.
Oh yeah, we just stuff ourselves with RSUs. Sorry for the dilution.
Have you seen Lyft share price …?
Simply trash. Not worth my typing
Nobody talks about Lyft anymore
