Why airbnb worth 5x as expedia?
Yes I am jealous. Airbnb has ~4b revenue last year, and the growth rate is similar to Expedia’s growth rate in 2013 , when Expedia has 4.7b revenue(https://www.statista.com/statistics/269387/revenue-of-expedia/) Yes, it has better UI. But why 5x market value?

No idea. Used Airbnb once and had a pretty sketchy experience. Maybe it is just me but probably I will think twice before I book via Airbnb next time. But right now the entire market seems to be ready for a correction. Some of these valuations and that too during a pandemic aren't making any sense.
Expedia screws me every time on reservations if I need to modify or cancel, its totally optional since booking direct us often easier and better while airbnb actually delivers value .. sorry. Just imho
