For real, every update is progressively awful. The layout is confusing and it looks terrible on web. The mobile is just glitchy. Don't ruin WFH for everyone by getting high and playing Mario Kart all day. #facebook #engineering

Real answer: shitty PSC culture encourages shipping BS features for impacc and cluttering/bloating the UI.

Compared to what? Reddit with no functionality? FB UI is still light years better than most apps with no features.

I feel FB has done a good job in showing UI (considering there's so much to show and so little real estate). As a UI engineer myself I appreciate everything FB has done for UI space.
It’s not so much bad UI, but terrible UX. Forcing users to tap “watch on IGTV” or “watch on FB watch,”— why can’t you just let the video play..? And forcing ads in the middle of videos. Talk about compromising experience for $$. Same for Youtube though, Google forcing YouTube premium down everyone’s throat.
new fb ui is shit
Fb said "you now can switch to new fb any time". Me: ignore it and never... Am I alone?
I have had serious performance issues with FB for the last few years, particularly when scrolling through feed and videos slow it down / render the app basically frozen. Running on a decent gaming rig too.
It looks ugly and outdated. Agreed.
"Outdated" implies that it would have looked good in a previous time; it wouldn't have.
