Every can see it from a mile away that the exponential rise in applications of AI on the horizon combined with chokehold (monopoly) they have in the GPU space is going to make them the most valuable company on Earth 🌍 very soon… Big opportunity imo… Why aren’t we going all in in their stock?! Disclaimer: This is not financial advice.
Not all applications need GPU, and the trend is to fine tune model on smaller data set and with less compute hardware
True but there’s still a definite need for GPU and mass compute is still one of the pillars (along with algorithms and data) needed to make transformative progress with large models. AGI for example wont be reached through chatGPT plugins.
AGI won’t be reached through current path of research in AI.
What about AMD? We have seen them beat Intel. Why couldn't they release a competitive GPU and challenge Nvidia?
Because they have never done so to date? AMD seems perfectly happy playing second fiddle.
Cuda infiltration makes it a hard sell for amd GPU for server side. Even with shittier drivers for Nvidia it's still preferred choice It will take many years to get a similar ecosystem for amd. Until then amd is cpu server and gaming markers only
Wait for Q3, you'll know why. I just dumped all my NVDA shares.
What's to stop someone from manufacturing an "AI optimised" chip, similar to the ASIC chip for Bitcoin mining - this rendering GPU AI training obsolete
Nvidia and others already do it.
Apple silicon too. They're frequently marketed as tensor/neural/edge computing cores.
There is no “monopoly” lol. All the big tech companies already have their own accelerator chips (google, meta, Apple, Amazon) You can literally load up a TPU in colab right now
You're too late
Have you ever heard of valuation? People who jumped all in into “hot stocks” just two years ago lost 90% and sometimes 99% of their money. If I had to take a position on NVDA then I would be much safer shorting it
Some people didn’t learn and need another refresher
Yeah, this will only last few days. They will learn patience soon.
There’s your first mistake, you’re supposed to go all in on a stock *before* it doubles.
You make a good point about the likelihood of a bright future for nvidia. But going all in also means you’re all out if the outcome isn’t what you expected.
