I see everyone pissed at Elon for taking over twitter. Why no one is pissed with previous leadership trying so hard to sell the company and pocketing millions while leaving employees in the cross fire? If previous leadership was so passionate about company vision and cared about employees, why did the went to court to sell the company? They knew exactly what was coming for the employees! #twitter
Leadership accountable to shareholders. They did what’s best for them.
Isn’t musk doing the same?
Hahaha CEO and VPs responsible for shareholder and not to employees. But the majority shareholder shouldnt be responsible to shareholders. Man - wake up and speak a little coherent
I mean, it was a public company. There was an offer for more than it was worth. It’s literally their job to do whatever it takes to make it go through.
Isn’t musk doing the same for what’s better for him as the main shareholder?
It was legally binding that the previous C team maximize value for the shareholders. Now that the company is private, Musk can choose what he wants to do. I don’t think Musks choices have been bad regarding twitter, but he is kind of an asshole about it.
fiduciary responsibility to shareholders trump employee experience
You don’t make sense. What is trump employee experience?
don't care much about protecting employee interests in favor of shareholder interests
Who do you mean by leadership? It's not up to the CEO, CFO etc to decide whether to decline to be deal or not if the offer is significantly higher than what they believe the company is actually worth.
I mean the board. The board has no saying on company plans? lol lol You know how much the CEO made from this transaction right?
The CEO has no say in it if the majority of the shareholders want this deal. Lol lol you know what happens to a CEO who stands in the way of a deal that they had 0 chance of getting from elsewhere? You know what a fiduciary means right?
Bear in mind it's also the previous leadership took the company and over grew the workforce
Exactly! Bad leadership but everyone blaming musk for trying to save the company. I have empathy for those impacted but blame the previous board for all the wrong decisions and looking after their pockets only.
It's plain and simple: Should you blame Musk for the fact that Twitter need to fire people? Absolutely not. It's previous leadership that fxxked up the company. Should you blame Musk for laying off people in such a brutal manner? Yes you can. I personally think this could be handled better.
Several groups did a shit job to get it where it was but once the offer was made they were legally obligated to take it. I think Elon has been erratic in making the offer and disrespectful in how he executed the layoff.
Pissed? Twitter employee should be thankful of Elon. If it’s not Elon, Twitter will be in 25 range. Thanks to him paying premium, Twitter ppl can sell their share at premium where the rest of the companies go down
Everyone is pissed at Jack and previous leadership.
1. A bunch of self-serving, greedy bad leadership people in the previous regime. They're laughing quietly on their way to the bank right now. 2. A bunch of entitled employees made $300K+ a year they did not deserve. They are now crying foul because they can't just sit pretty while making banks like before. 3. A big a**hole swinging his d*ck is now getting more and more panic by the day. Your sympathy should go to no one involved in this soap opera.
