Worried about Joining GrubHub.

Just eat takeaway is planning to sell GrubHub. Is it a wrong time to join GrubHub? Will there be layoffs and reorgs? Haven't notified my present company yet ?

Think as a consumer, just ask a simple question. Are you happy with ANY food delivery app?

Deloitte lucid_code Apr 20, 2022

No customer is happy. Order $23 food and it total up to $43.

Beats having to get it yourself.

Tell me why you want to leave Judy

What org in grub is your offer for? Nothing I’ve heard internal gives me any sense that JET would sell us. We’re the only profitable location they have for delivery afaik

Today's news mentioned about it

It's been in news since a while now

Rumors will never stop sadly and unfortunately that’s the curse of the type of industry Grubhub is in, especially currently in last place even though we are the most profitable. These type of rumors show that even though it might not never happen, there is always a possibility they might sell. If living with that doubt bothers you, I would not accept right now, but I can tell you that WLB is good here and culture is great so if these rumors weren’t swirling, I would 100% tell you to join. However it is up to you and hope you make a decision that brings you peace of mind 😁

Hypothetically if someone had stock (say $50k worth at ~$5.50 JTKWY price) and JET sells Grubhub- what happens to the RSU?

GrubHub qep Apr 20, 2022

No one knows, depends on the deal made. There's no consistent way these things are handled. Obviously vested shares nothing changes though, those are shares in JET not Grubhub.

Synchrony SubPrmeLnd Apr 20, 2022

Makes sense. Were you at GH when it was acquired by JET and did they convert GH shares to JTKWY, or do a cash buyout?

These rumors are pretty constant, it might happen. I try not to focus too much on that, if you are after a relatively chill job with a pretty good working culture and decent tech then I'd still recommend grubhub. That being said, if you have offers at companies better positioned long term it obviously would probably be better to take that.
