Would you date a girl if she had (hsv2/genital) herpes?
1/3 of adults in the US have oral herpes anyway....
Pretty sure it’s higher
HSV 2 is way different. Not even sure why you brought up HSV1 as if it is somehow comparable.
50% to 80% of people in the US have oral herpes. If you answer no, you're literally eliminating more than half of all people https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/healthlibrary/conditions/adult/infectious_diseases/Oral_Herpes_22,OralHerpes
OP said HSV-2, not HSV-1. Very different.
That's not an excuse to attract it
Genital herpes
Genitals is much worse and harder to live with, not sure if I’d be down. I would have to be really into her to the point of marriage
The whole herpes stigma is an unfortunate irony. Most people who do have either 1 or 2 don’t know because they don’t exhibit symptoms, (around 75% maybe) and routine STD tests don’t include herpes because it’s not a big deal. It’s easy to spread and hard to prevent, even with completely safe sex and only heavy skin contact. It’s also easy to treat. Yet because there’s no cure it has this stigma which hurts those who (by random chance) have it with symptoms, but doesn’t hurt the far larger group who spread it unknowingly.
Yeah I realized this and how much it must suck
Why not? Isn't it treatable?
Nope
Treatable not curable
How Would your opinion change if it were someone with HIV? It’s not curable, but has no impact on life expectancy if treated. And apparently totally asymptomatic
And totally expensive.
Would you put a price on true love? 😂
I had a girlfriend that had genital herpes. When she told me, I didn’t know what to say. I spent some time researching it and realized that it wasn’t a big deal, although it was stigmatizing, and it was a one-way door if I happened to catch it. I decided to take the risk. We took all preventative measures when having sex. Sex was a bit complicated though because we tried not to get in contact without the condom in the middle. After a while I relaxed a bit. I had a great time with her. And then, she had to leave the country we were in. I tested for HSV and for pretty much everything. As expected, I learned that I had HSV1 as most people, but I didn’t catch HSV2 from her. And I didn’t catch anything else. I felt relieved after I got the test results. I’m happy that I did it. I loved my time with her.
Is consider normal to have HSV-1?
Would you not date someone who got cold sores occasionally as well? Same virus. By the time you’re in your mid to late 30s, most everyone’s got exposure to cold sores.
I passed on a 10 one time. Like 7 dates and she would like run after each one and not kiss or huh or anything. Finally I mentioned on last date and on my way home after the date she texted me she had it and asked if I was ok with it. I was kind of pissed she waited so long to tell me that I never called her back..
Give me her number. I’ll satisfy her needs
It's just herpes...
