Google is hoping to lure workers back to the office with a new on-site hotel special, but some workers aren’t convinced it’s a good deal. The company said full-time employees can book a room at an on-campus hotel in Mountain View for $99 a night in what it’s deeming a “Summer Special,” according to materials viewed by CNBC. The description states that the special will run through Sept. 30 in hopes it’ll “make it easier for Googlers to transition to the hybrid workplace.” Since the promotion is for unapproved business travel, the company will not reimburse their stays, but will require employees to use their personal credit cards, the special’s description states. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/08/04/google-offers-on-campus-hotel-special-to-lure-workers-back-in.html #hybrid #officelife #officework #remote #rto #wfh #google #faang #magma

Lmao what an out of touch move, borderline dystopian. If you need your workers to sleep in your office least you could do is make it free.
That's what Elon did. Smart guy!
You couldn’t book those as a normie. Those were only for Elon and his buddies who basically did no work.
LOL. This is out of control
At least Elon let's his employees sleep under their desks for free
Besides the baby he tries to leave in them.
Lol @Jackson
The special runs until September 30. What happens in October? 🤪
Earnings call, they have to hike the prices for the hotel to increase revenue
$299/night starting October
I heard the food is great. Can I take the deal as an Amazon person?
yes just need pass interview is all
What happens if I sleep in a nap pod for free
Nap pods are uncomfortable and terrible for your back. It’s as if they were designed so that you wouldn’t use them.
u fine long as u don’t mind janitors vacuuming at night
I would because im staying in a hotel anyway for 2 nights/week to RTO
100% if I had to travel into Bay Area for hybrid I’d do it and stay two nights (Tuesday and Wednesday night), they’d probably give me early check in and late check out too so great deal and close to office
Why on earth would you do that?
To travel to california for a while and only pay $99/day for a hotel. Or buy a house outside the bay or california and stay for 3 days per week at the hotel
What's the point? If you are working outside California and only coming here for a week, you can just book any other hotel and get it reimbursed? It's not like you'd fly every week to California. Or I am missing something 🤔
