Asking for a friend. He got a internship offer at Zillow and Microsoft this summer. The goal is get a return full time offer as he is graduating this year so whichever company he goes with he will most likely try to get a full time offer there. I hear both companies have a pretty good full time conversation rate (Microsoft 80%) not quite sure for Zillow but a know a few people that got return offers. A few things that he wants in a company. - TC - Remote - Good WLB - Career Growth I know Zillow is fully remote but not quite sure if Microsoft have remote option for employees. From doing research Zillow new grad TC is slightly better than Microsoft. He is aware of the whole ZO debacle which kinda puts him on the edge and wanted to ask you guys input. Not good time to join Z
Having worked at both, now is not the time to join Zillow
Why is that?
Interns at Microsoft usually get an offer back if they do an average or good job. Since that is one of OPs main objectives, and given the layoffs and lower budgets I think Microsoft is a safer bet. I also think engineering quality at Microsoft is higher (at least comparing the areas I was in at both companies)
Go to Microsoft. You’ll get more perks and it’ll be more fun. Pre-pandemic the interns have lots of social events and get to attend a big secret concert at the end.
Thank you guys for your input!!! Looks like Microsoft is the wise choiceee
I chose Zillow over Microsoft 6 years ago, it was the place to be back then. Not the case anymore, and MS is becoming cool again. Definitely choose MS
Run in the opposite direction.
Can someone please share what is the sde intern package at microsoft or zillow?
Get away from Zillow.
+1
