I have an offer from Zocdoc and would like to know how the company is doing? Pros and cons of joining the company now. I’ve been told Zocdoc could go public next year. Are there any signs of it?
I love it here, and IPO is definitely on the near horizon. Nobody knows exactly when it's going to happen, but most everyone in the eng org is pushing for it hard.
Company is profitable. Just hired Ed Liu (he helped take companies public for Morgan Stanley) so I'm guessing we're in a pretty good position to IPO. If you're in tech/eng the quality of life is surprisingly good given that we may be about to go public. No company is perfect but I think it's a good time to join (if the numbers in your offer are good/etc...)
That’s great! Numbers look good. I’ve had bad experiences with stock options. At the end they were worth zero. So, making sure about that.
This hasn’t aged well… Ed Liu left after just a year. Still no talks of IPO.
Ask the recruiter to speak with someone who knows - most companies will have someone who can walk you through some more details than you can get on an anonymous internet message board. Especially when the first poster is telling you to look at places down more than 60% from their ipos.
Makes sense! Thank you 😊
What’s TC?
If you're looking for healthtech there's far better places to go... Hims, Included Health, Ro, Thirty Madison, Oscar, Blink Health, etc.
Any particular reasons why you think Zocdoc isn’t good for engineering roles?
