With the recent executive order and everything, seriously considering moving elsewhere. I am on H1B right now and have my I140 approved. I do not wish to go back home to India and live there for a myriad reasons, at least not right now. Might consider that a few years later. Is it worth continuing to live in the USA if I am not really hoping for GC/citizenship? I mean nobody is hoping at this point, definitely not Indians. How about moving to Canada or Europe? What are the pros/cons? I have heard a lot about the quality of life and WLB in different countries in Europe. Would appreciate any insight into this and the pay. I am single and by the looks of it, will remain so. That means no constraints whatsoever. Just want to earn enough to live well and travel as I please, when every thing is fine again...
Canada might be the right answer for you. Happy to answer any of your questions
UK? Germany. Switzerland is good too.
Thank you. Guess it makes sense to continue here if I want to make good money.
Canada

Canada weather sucks ass though. Even in Vancouver.
OP realistically your main options are : Canada and the UK. Go where Cisco has a bigger presence. You will not get American salaries but what salaries you see today in the US may not be the same 4 years down the line. Singapore and Germany are good options too. But Singapore doesn’t let you naturalize. I wouldn’t bother with that for now

I think people generally get GC but after a long and painful wait and uncertainty. So if you want GC, better not to leave. If you decide to leave, Canada, Singapore, Australia, the Netherlands, the UK, and many more countries offer a better quality of life. If your kids are USC, offering them global experience helps them during college admissions in the US. It is an advantage.
What world are you in? The US green card pathway through employment is effectively shut down for most Indian and Chinese origin people
Current wait for Indian on eb2/3 is 150 years. There is no known human who holds the record to live that long. Even if someone lived that long, please add 25 years to it, assuming people join the line at age 25. Its literally a denial because you were born in country X
There is no alternative if TC is your goal.
California was run by republicans before 1992. And after that it is deep blue state. Too many illegal immigrants become citizens by amnesty and are raised by Democrats with benefits. Texas is heading to the same road.
From what data shows poverty rate in red states are bigger than blue states. It’s not about what you think or believe is what the data shows
If this issue bothers you so much, have you cared to donate and volunteer to non profit that is pushing a bill to fix this issue? I sometimes wonder if we simply keep running away from problems, how are we expecting others to solve any of them for us?
For some people, spending money and effort to effect a non deterministic outcome may not be worth it. Especially if they have alternative options.
For many not such alternatives exist. If the issue doesn't matter and you have alternatives, you would leave anytime. That's not really the folks I am talking about. There are so many posts where people complain like crazy, talking about why it matters to them , but when it is time to help their own cause, many expect others to solve their problems. If everyone did their part, may be we would have probably fixed the issue 🤷🏽♂️. Even now we are so close to the solution, just a senator away.
