How much prior Data Science management experience expected ? Most data scientists are ICs or at least hybrid ( 50% hands on ) given the nature of the role. I have never reported to a data science manager, it was reporting to a director along with a small team of data scientists
My manager was a dsm by title and he does exactly what all other sdms do
