Hi Guys, I have offers from Walmart(SDE-3) and Goldman Sachs (Associate). Both are in Dallas location and work is same in both companies. I have 4.5 years of work experience. Walmart TC ~160k Can I know which offer is better? If I want to take Goldman Sachs, how much TC I should negotiate in Goldman Sachs? Thanks in Advance!
Goldman definitely
Walmart
Walmart
I thought Oracle would pay more
May be! I am using my friend account 😌
Is your walmart tc including bonus & stocks or just base ? If u dont mind can u tell what is the base ?
I’m currently working at Goldman from the past two years, and I regret joining here. I don’t recommend joining Goldman as an Associate. You might need to wait at least for 2-3 to get promoted to VP(next to Associate) but there won’t be any difference in the amount of work done in both the levels. After 6-8 months of joining, you won’t find anything new to learn from tech perspective. Unless you have financial background or interested learning financial stuff, it’s definitely not worth it.
Thanks for your valuable insights!
GS has some teams with good tech. Don’t expect good bonuses though so get a base you like
Depends on base
Heya, could I ask if you had a superday for GS and if so, what it consisted of? I have one coming up but my recruiter couldn’t share any info on what they would be testing on.
Only join GS if it is the very last offer you have
don’t join goldmans. its shit, regret joining literally
Can I know few drawbacks of Goldman Sachs?
Legacy tech stack , toxic managers, shit pay , long work hours and zero career growth for sde . Developers are second class citizens here, please stay away
Stay away from Goldman Sachs . It is the worst for tech. Only if you’re a finance guy or if you literally have no offers join Goldman
can relate. regret joining here
I regret choosing GS
Goldman probably isn’t gonna be higher than Walmart
In terms of pay?
Yup, I’m interviewing for an associate role as well and the expected range was somewhere around 160-180 for Hcol
