And water is wet. Capitalists only care about short term financial gain and the employees or the community or the environment can all go fuck themselves.

Yup, curious why OP thinks that's some sort of news, no billionaires ever like unions.

No company likes unions. Politicians like unions because they can pay the union bosses for votes

companies want to keep board members happy and exploit the workers. the only way workers can negotiate is by the power of collective bargaining.

I’ve found unions to be more trouble than their worth, growing up with family members who have been a part of unions and having experienced being a normal grunt employee myself. They have their place in the trades and other low level jobs to entice people to work those jobs—otherwise no one would work them—but I genuinely don’t see a place for them in areas like tech or consulting that absolutely favor moving with your feet and negotiating your own offers. Stack ranking, RTO and layoffs are a cancer on the industry, but I don’t think unions have enough power to collectively bargain against the might of FAANG, or even worse, against HFTs or finance companies. It’s the blessing and curse of being a white-collar worker, particularly in having skills that most normal Americans—i.e. people like me who used to make $55K base—would scoff at due to political differences. Workers at Tesla factories and services across Europe are not unionized and don’t want to be because they understand that the unions are bad for both them and the company. It’s other unions in, for example, Scandinavia tried to force Tesla create a union but Tesla workers opposed!
