hi fellow blinders! i was recently laid off at intel, and i have till march 31 to find a new job. i found a role external to the company. 2/14 filed h1b petition with premium processing 2/20 rfe in uscis case tracker my lawyers dont know the reason for rfe yet, since they are waiting for actual document in mail. my unemployment starts from march31. 1. is it advisible for me to continue looking internally for a new job within intel, or do i just sit back and wait for rfe to clear? 2. whats the tentative timelines for rfe approval? how long will fragomen usually take to respond to rfe? 3. how long will uscis take to respond to rfe, after they have received the docs? 4. what are the chances of denial for h1b transfer? #h1b #rfe
Mar 31 is a lot of time still, find and apply to different companies and get a new offer/H1B filing.
But the deadline is Mar 20. for filling. Completing a process within this deadline is so hard. I have got calls from Amazon, Apple, Microsoft etc all of them refuse that they can meet the Mar 20 deadline if I interview right now.
1. Look for something internally, when your rfe is cleared, join the new company. 2. Typically 6-8 weeks overall 3. They make a decision with 15 days 4. Depends on case to case. If new job is related to your major, you should be fine.
find as many jobs as possible and file as many h1b petition as possible, as long as you have one pending u r in status. in the meanwhile, asking the new company to relocate to canada, as a backup
@tryAgainn: op may not need to go through lottery. Op seems to be already on H1b. Lottery is when you are on opt.
You can still join the new employer ... all you need is h1b transfer file to be done ... rfe will clear eventually
+1 needless to say it is stressful until result is in.
Getting a job internal is always the safe bet ( one without an amendment is better ) . Rfe gets cleared almost right away considering it is once the response is sent.
Its so stressful at the moment. Thanks for the positivity.
I completely understand. I was in, dare I say a more worse situation in August , and did what I had to put visa above job. But things worked out well now. Hang in there. You will get through this.
Do everything but sitting idle
I also got an rfe for the transfer. How did you manage it?
Find new jobs and new employer can file another H1B, if that gets approved then you can use that. Multiple H1B filing is allowed from different company.
Thanks! I just wanted to know if anyone had some statistics on RFE denial. Please do let me know.
Please don’t play statistics with RFE. The company/uscis will take care of it and it’s not in your hands. So please do what’s in your hands I.e more get more offers.
