i have an offer to leave Bank of America and join google. i know it seems like a straightforward decision but looking for advice on the corporate culture comprisions. Also, is there any reason that this wouldnt be a good move right now? I’m a Director at BofA and will be moving to a L6 Engineering Manager. based in NYC.
It'll be really hard to adjust to the culture as Google is insanely engineering driven. And they also just do things kinda weird. Good luck. You will probably see the L7 promo when you're 75
Way to go Lyft!
Haha reading back I realize how negative I sound. Correction: Google is still a great company with great talent. You won't always chew on the biggest projects but it'll be a good time and worst case scenario it's a good learning experience+insight to one possible way you can run an eng company.
Yoe?
To your point, it’s a no brainer. Finance titles are pretty inflated, so your title at BofA shouldn’t be a consideration. What’s the TC comparison between your old role, and new offer?
Bofa tc and yoe?
Op are you headed to Google engineering or Google Cloud? And which lob?
It’s a no brainer unless the WLB at Google is incredibly bad.
It’s no brainer unless you have fairly high chances to move as MD. You might miss the power you enjoy in BOFA.
Op what did you choose?
Just curious to see how the move from finance to tech went ?
