Is Mercer Island safe and good place to rent an apartment in seattle? Trying to rent a 2bhk under $3k while working at Downtown Seattle. TC: 185K YoE: 6 #housing #seattle
It’s safe but beyond boring, it’s also very very expensive for what you get. There is the issue that if one of the bridges on 90 closes you’re stuck until the weather gets better. IMO there’s better areas for cheaper.
Please share better areas for cheaper and the expected commute time to downtown. I’ve been looking at mount baker and Columbia city
Its safe. But boring
Go ahead
Thanks. What would be your suggestions areas wise for a young couple looking to be within 30 mins of work commute trying to rent a 2 bed apartment under $3k? Prefer to be near Indian community as we participate in a lot of those activities.
Dm me.
Belltown should get you a 2 bedroom just around 3k.
Depends which side of the water you’re working on. Crossing either bridge will absolutely turn your commute into an hour minimum, at least until the East link is done in 2023. For east side of lake Washington I think Bellevue and Redmond both have larger Indian communities. I know a lot of Indian folks who work at Microsoft in Bellevue and live close by. In Seattle proper I’m less sure, Beacon Hill has very strong East Asian influences but I’m not sure for Indian.
Thank you. Office in downtown Seattle. I did think of Bellevue. But as Mercer island is right in the middle, I thought that’d be the best option.
i second this. i will prefer longer commute but will live in bellevue. Its gives you the city life without being jammed in Seattle. But if you want small commute. maybe check capitol hill, SLU etc.
Rival gangs of lawyers and doctors have put aside their differences for now, so violence on the island is at an all-time low. However, keep an eye out for roving groups of bored tech founders. They are always looking for trouble. Cross the street when you see them.
🤣
Mercer Island is a total slum! Don't move there! 🤭
Biggest risk on mercer island is dying of boredom
Boring....
