I’m looking for a single family house in Austin with good school district. My budget is small at $200K, however I’m wiling to put in the effort to fix it up. which neighborhoods or zipcodes should I target? thank you! 🤗
I am in the same boat searching for a home with good schools with reasonable pricing. I found 78660 is good with good neighborhoods and 9 rated schools. I don’t thing with even 400K budget you will find anything around AndersonMills and Steiner ranch.
Do ratemyschool ratings actually mean anything tho? My own high school was rated a 9 but 30% of my class didn’t make it to college?
It does if other people think it do. Even though you know better, it still matters because other people dont and that will matter if you ever want to resell or rent it out
All of Austin and surrounding are pretty good schools. Round Rock is top 3 in the country. Pretty mixed racially. Zip 78664, you can find right around 200k 3bd 2bth. Just have to be patient.
In the same boat
There are no 200k houses in any location that folks would seriously define as Austin. Round rock isn’t Austin.
In Bayarea we call Livermore as Bayarea 🥳
Consider Far West. UT shuttle busses, older population in the neighborhood, and a bunch of old construction that will be tear-downable soon. Had my eye on it for an investment property.
Good luck tub. Houses in good school zones here generally start around 400k. The Anderson high school areas can go a little lower but I think you'll be hard pressed to find anything in the Austin metro areas that has something around 200k.
Not in Austin, but in the metro area sure. Most of the burbs meet these requirements. Idk anything about picking a burb but a good realtor will help you pick one that’s best for you.
Only 400k??? Sounds like a dream Here in Bellevue/Redmond a 2bd 2bath in decent school zone costs 1.5 mil minimum :(
