any fitbit folks here who can share any insights on where is the Google/Fitbit deal going? will fitbit stock that current employees have be converted to Google Stock? will employees be leveled per Google? TC - $175k
no for now. It’s just like asking if you could buy TSLA now at $1500 and looking for short term gain. And FItbit is nowhere close... I would rather get TSLA RSU and aim for $3000 than get fitbit topped at $7.35 if deal goes through, and risk down to $2 if deal fails. For long term, you should check if you can just go to google directly.

Having been in the oncology/drug development/mobile tech space for 10 years. I would say it’s inevitable for healthcare to embrace wearables, Fitbit included. More health insurance and pharma companies will need to leverage metadata from wearables, like Fitbit to stay relevant in the pharma/drug development space. Keeping in mind Alphabet already has a number of biotech/pharma companies under its umbrella (23&me, Streams-Deepminds, Verily to name a few) I would say Fitbit is a safe bet 👍🏼
Only $0.5 upside potential, and 5 down potential, 10x risk reward, worthy to bet?
Oh that’s a good point, I was talking from a macro/long term perspective
Can't say much other than what is on the press, but the deal is going strong. There is no stock conversion, it would convert to cash, and that "cash" would vest as usual.
