Microsoft Teams is making fast inroads as a competitor to Slack. Anyone see a future for Yammer?
exactly, why keep both?
Yammer is a joke
What’s Yammer?
A worse version of workplace by FB
What's workplace by FB?
Yammer has been dead for years. Teams gets a superbowl ad and what does yammer have lol? Teams still sucks but not as bad and atleast Microsoft is investing into it.
Was Yammer ever alive?
It isn't.
Yammer has been doing well everywhere except Microsoft. Obviously it’s hard to compare to Teams which is the fastest growing product in our history. But that team shipped a lot of new stuff and they grew something like 50% YoY. Definitely hearing a lot more buzz from customers. As long as they have a clear set of scenarios that are distinct from Teams they should be fine.
Who are yammer customers?
Can yammer employees easily transfer to other teams in Microsoft?
Microsoft owns Yammer and is probably using some of its technologies for Teams
No it's not. Actually you can view yammer inside of teams right now (there is an embedded tab) making yammer even less useful
that’s…still…using yammer?
