nCino - Looking to refer experienced engineers & PMs

nCino is an incredibly fast growing company with an equally incredible culture headquartered in a beach town on the east coast called Wilmington, NC. A great place to raise a family and an even better place to be 20 something. No joke, I go surfing before work almost every day. We're built on top of the Salesforce platform and have some of the largest banks in the world using our Bank Operating System to streamline and automate their business. May not be as "sexy" as working at Snapchat, but you're looking at an opportunity to join a company that is showing signs it will dominate the industry over the next several decades because of it's innovative and employee focused/driven culture. We're hiring in almost all departments but I'm specifically (selfishly) interested in referring engineers and PM's as we continue to grow our product suite and expand internationally. The only real requirements are a proven track record of self motivation and a desire to come in and make an impact. If you're interested in joining a product development team of a little over 120 guys and gals changing the way banks do business, please message me so I can get you connected with one of our recruiters.

Honestly sounds great, but comp seems low? Glassdoor avg is below amazon's starting SDE salary

Microsoft showme$ Sep 1, 2017

That is expected right? You can buy a big house with that salary in NC!

For sure, really depends on how much experience you're bringing to the table and what you have to offer. We're by no means substantially mature yet so coming in with a lot of experience would put you in a good position to lead and move up. And to the point above, you're spot on. Super low cost of living (one of the reasons it's such a great place to raise a family).

When you say "built on top of the salesforce platform," out of curiosity, how easy, of at all, is to change platforms?

nCino gpd OP Sep 1, 2017

Respectfully, don't think I'm able to answer that for you

Oracle ClouDev Sep 1, 2017

Fair enough. How dependent are you in sales force then?

Gals!! I see red light..

Snapchat Dtbz76 Sep 1, 2017

Sorry but Wilmington, NC isn't as sexy as having an ocean front view from your desk in LA

nCino gpd OP Sep 2, 2017

Depends on who you ask ^

I know a few people there. Not that glamorous. Some of the execs are difficult or incompetent from what I hear.

Is remote work possible? Not that I don't like the idea of NC, I have deep roots where I am now.

nCino gpd OP Sep 7, 2017

It's possible but for the most part our pde team is located here in NC. Feel free to message directly if you're interested in speaking with a recruiter

Here's the problem with working in Wilmington. There's only a handful of companies to work at, so if you take a job there, and move your family, you are stuck. If you don't like your job, there aren't many options. Pay is not great either. I doubled my salary when I moved from Wilmington to Raleigh.

MapAnything BLT529 Sep 18, 2017

But wouldn't it just be same process of moving somewhere for a job? If you move to Wilmington, you just know going in that it will most likely result in a move when Wilmington runs its course?

LexisNexis science! Sep 18, 2017

If you move to a place that has lots of job opportunities, such as Raleigh, you set down roots knowing that you can have a long career trajectory. In the tech industry, switching jobs every 1-3 years is common. Do you think a family is going to uproot for a 3 year stint? No.

Is it even possible to have a remote PM position? If so, I'd be interested!

nCino gpd OP Oct 8, 2017

We only have one remote PM and she was on site in Wilmington for her first two years before relocating. You can apply but I think it'd be a long shot if you're not willing to relocate.
