promotion rate @ Google
Was about to ask folks here about promotion levels at Google and are folks generally happy π but it seems not according to this Googlegeist survey. I was hoping to jump the bandwagon but not so sure anymore π https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/14/google-employees-growing-unhappy-with-pay-and-promotions-survey-shows.html So I mean what is motivation to join Google supposing I make it through onsite. You will down level and down grade me in terms of seniority level and pay. Then later also promotions are harder to get and not to forget the mandatory 3 days a week in office. π TC: 288k YoE: 4
Millennials who got promotions easily are preventing Gen Z faster promotions so that they can warm the bench much longer Corporate slavery mindset is decreasing with every generation which is great. More & more young people are taking risk and becoming entrepreneurs & influencers Newer generation of workforce is more autonomous, likes growth, values WLB. Smart workers (Alpha mindset) Millennials are like heads down and sucking up to their boss mindset. Bunch of grunts & hardworkers (Pure Beta mindset)

I cancelled my Google interview after getting a job because the Google role was not fully remote. Not that I would pass the interview but the priorities of people are changing.
