I have been working as a Software Engineer for 14+ years. All my experience is building some web applications using C#.NET, ASP.NET, Java, Spring, Angular, and AngularJS. I have decent coding skills both in JavaScript/TypeScript and C#/Java. I have never worked on a big distributed system. All the applications I have worked on were relatively small and with very limited users (100s logged in user at a time). I have my onsite scheduled for a few of the FAANG companies. Most of the interviews are general (not for specific teams). Do I still have a chance to get those 500K+ offers and what kinds of teams I should target? OP can you share how it went?
You might get a senior role. Then learn scale on the job. Staff is unlikely
Based on my resume, recruiters always put me for L6 roles. Should I specifically ask them to lower this? Or they can still offer me senior role if my interview does not go well for staff role?
Usually down levels are fine. Just be open about the boundaries of your experience. Meaning interview for 6 if offered
