Why did Lyft not create any talent directory unlike Uber or Airbnb? Arguably Lyft pays higher salaries and potentially laid off better employees. Some of their executives shared spread sheet of employees laid off. Their severance is also lowest among the other high profile companies like Uber, Airbnb or Cruise automation. #severance #layoff #lyft #uber #airbnb
Airbnb set the precedent, Uber followed, Lyft was the kid who got caught
Cuz they don't actually lyft
Lyft is doom. Too narrow of a business model, Uber will crush them unfortunately... And this is coming from a Lyft over Uber user.
Because Lyft may not care as much. Airbnb is way nicer than normal. Have you seen there severance package. Never seen a better one.
I interviewed for their TPM team mid last year and the arrogance was the worst I have ever seen (L5 group)
Cuz they have no talent
Not everyone can be Larry Ellison’s cat.
1. Lyft doesn’t pay higher salaries than Airbnb. They didn’t even have annual refreshers or annual bonuses until recently. I heard the refreshers have been implemented but are still not good. 2. Lyft is in a much worse situation financially burning through cash much faster. It’s a much lower margin business. 3. Lyft is the underdog in its space. 4. Lyft typically just copies whatever others are doing. They laid off people before Airbnb so they didn’t have a chance to copy the directory
Lyft created a fb group where everyone contributed by sharing contacts (hiring managers or employee referrals or HR) ... So we did helped in a different way Talent directory needs to be seen by HRs, HMs .... Here we did directly talked to them in network
I am one of those affected. I saw an excel sheet shared on LinkedIn and created by Hador. No one mailed me about Facebook group.
My bad!! The group was specific to an org... Didn't noticed it You can still join it but ppl have gone cool now... No more activity Dm me for fb group name
Because they’re aggressively hiring and it would be bad form to have a list of laid off people in the careers page
Because the remaining staff doesn’t know how to code and create a simple site
This is true
I can make a JIRA ticket and wait 3 weeks to find out why its not on the roadmap, but send a proposal and we’ll think about it next half
