AT&T (location has low COL) Comp: 77K + benefits Interest: Definitely most interested with the project I would work on, I have a strong preference of this company at least from outsider perspective. NASA (Location has medium COL) Comp: 87K + benefits Interest: Not super enthusiastic about the project, decent preference for company. Athene (Location has low COL) Comp: 70K + benefits Interest: Somewhat interested in this project + company, right now, last choice of my options I currently am in Los Angeles, CA working at a small startup for 1 year as full stack developer. After 400+ applications and no previous offers, I landed 3 offers in the span of one week. For all of these offers, they are in places I have never lived before, but I am willing to move to any of the three. Also, these three are all offered through contracting companies (Amdocs, Adnet, Xpanxion) I have no knowledge of what it is like working for any of these companies and was wondering if anyone had any input. Does anyone have any experience working with these companies, particularly in how easy to switch to different projects, how often they have layoffs, exit opportunities? Any suggestions or advice? Thanks. #offer #career #tech #att #at&t #nasa current tc 70k YOE 1
NASA. Can you change projects after a while? There should be no shortage of cool projects at NASA.
I'm not sure about changing projects. Everyone is saying NASA, but NASA is not a IT-first company, while AT&T is. Does AT&T have any negative reputations? I am new and am not aware of any.
Come to AT&T
You might get a project to translate alien 👽 language..
I think having NASA on your resume will attract a lot of cool companies
Working at NASA is a childhood dream for a lot of people in US and around the world. Do it for a bit and move on if you can’t find interesting work.
Congratulations on these offers! Take up NASA. Even if you're there as a contractor, it is good for future career growth. Not sure if you're W2 or C2C. Health benefits would be the only thing that you may want to check in.. Pretty much rest would be minimal irrespective of which contacting company you take. Also, are these straight up contract roles, or any of these contract to hire? That could also help future career trajectory.
All three of these are long-term contracts. The hiring managers all gave indications in one way or another that they wished for me to stay there for many years.
NASA would be cool, flex on people when they ask where you work
I’d pick NASA..... no one gives a shit that I work for the phone company. NASA prestige would be much higher in my opinion.

I’d pick NASA too most of AT&T is a dumpster fire. Our leadership is the worst in the industry
Think twice about AT&T. They are going through a massive restructuring and layoffs all through summer. Contractors are treated as second class citizens, and are usually the first to be let go. Technology wise, it's ok. AT&T would like you to believe it is a tech company but it's really an old school cable company trying to be a technological company.
