Airbnb in 2018
Have an offer from Airbnb and my bonus hits my bank account at the end of the month. Evaluating whether to go but I also enjoy Uber and my project. How’s Airbnb looking for the near future (1-2 years). What are the biggest pros, biggest risks, biggest challenges from a business and tech perspective? How is growth? How is morale? Any internal culture or workplace stuff that is worth mentioning to any prospective hire?

Uber stock has much bigger potential. Also there are more engineering challenges and more opportunities to grow. Move may be justified if you've already vested a lot and want to diversify.

Both are good places with risk. Airbnb engineering team has no head of engineer so it depends which eng org you are joining.
I’ll say this much: I would NOT leave Uber for Airbnb, particularly if your current role is stimulating. Culture is extremely political and passive aggressive as a result of presenting ourselves as holier than thou. And good luck finding technically stimulating projects.
One area of Airbnb which has better tech challenges that Uber is the Trust team. Worth considering that team.
Is not tech stack for trust provided by teams like ml infra? Trust also uses lot of 3rd party services like sift to reduce risk. Is not there tech debt as well just like any other team?

If you are enjoying Uber then stay. Nothing about AirBnB (tech or growth wise) screams significantly better than Uber atm.
