2 days before my on-site I get a call saying they are postponing my interview to next week, because there were no “interviewers” ready... what the hell does that mean? Do they not value candidates time? I spent the past few weeks preparing, and had requested days off for this. This paints a nice picture of amazon! Not sure if I event want to work there, pretty happy where I am, just looking for other opportunities out there, clearly amazon is not one.
Cool, thanks for sharing.
There are sometimes unforeseen situations. Folks may be sick, team reorganization or Job cuts
Amazon overall interview process is pretty good. Your situation seems an exception.
Relax my friend. Sometimes things happen even with good planning. What if the interviewers fell sick and amazon couldn’t find a good replacement? Would you rather go onsite and interview with random people who aren’t experienced interviewers and get rejected? They informed you 2 days in advance. I know it’s a pain to handle but try to be flexible when you are searching for jobs. This certainly doesn’t “paint a picture” about amazon. This doesn’t happen often.
You are overreacting. We are people too. Sometimes things are not entirely in our control.
sometimes folks get sick and there are not alternatives for the teams. This is a problem everywhere - last minute requests for qualified interviews, hiring managers take vacation.
Atleast they rescheduled OPs. I literally spent four days in preparing a strategy map and exchanging emails between two recruiters; two days before the scheduled screen they pulled the plug saying the position is closed and they want me to send other req ID for which I would be interested in. TL DR They didn't give me three months of prime for free.
