Apple has been dragging me for two weeks since verbal offer and compensation discussion. No clear answer as to why Apple is not extending the written offer. HM says "we are still working on the written offer". Today, the same team at Apple just posted the job ad on Apple career website. It is 100% the position I applied for, as it is a very specific position with specific keywords in the job title and job description. I asked the recruiter, and she/he said "nothing to worry about, it's just normal cycle". I applied using a referral to the team. At that time, the position was not created and posted yet on Apple website. Is Apple playing games? Is the job ad a red flag? #apple #verbal #written #offer #timeline #job #ad #recruiter #website #TC: 210k
More than 1 person can be hired per listing
Good point. Thanks for sharing. I already asked the recruiter before and he/she confirmed that for this specific job, only one candidate is being hired.
My job still on LinkedIn after I accept the formal offer. Lol.
Yes, that's a good point. Maybe in your case, it was the old job post still listed. But in my case, the job is listed this week on Apple career website (the date of job list is today). The verbal offer was two weeks ago. I am puzzled.
No they repost it again last weekend. So I assume they are having multiple positions to fill.
They need to have an opening listed before they can hire someone into it. This is to avoid scrutiny by the DoL into unfair labor practices. Also the reason why it’s taking them time. They have to create the opening, get it approved and list it since they weren’t expecting to hire anyone.
Thanks for giving me some much-needed insights. Time only can tell how this will play out.
You’ll be fine. Half that shit is automated. But yeah they have to post the listing at least once.
Thanks for sharing this piece of info. Good to know that they have to officially post it for at least once.
Do yo require sponsorship? That might be the reason why the job is posted , so that they can prove to immigration that you are the best person for this position.
Good point. Thanks for sharing. I now understand the legal obligation to post the job ad before hiring.
I also want to note Apple takes a really long time to go from verbal to written offer. ~2 weeks average. Every other place I’ve worked it’s been like 24 hours or less and docusign is in your email. Not the case. And what the above poster said about legal requirements to list the job
which org and team?
They are legally required to have a job opening before filling it up
Thanks for sharing this important piece of info. I did not know that before. Makes sense now. Since the job was not officially posted on their career website at the time I applied for it.
