What are some of the DOs and DON'Ts when in a behavioral interview?
Have a couple good project ready to talk about in depth. Just dont be an asshole and you'll be fine
DONāT talk about your new rash that you canāt get rid of.
Don't ask how the Cambridge Analytica scandal has affected Facebook's approach toward their mission of connecting people and creating community during the FB behavioral interview. At least, not if you want the job š
Your problem here is that there're already plenty of public statements on this. If you really cared, you would have actually done your homework and you're delusional if you think your interviewer is going to just randomly share additional information, on a topic which they probably can't speak for the entire company on anyway.
Wish I read this earlier... I interviewed at FB when the Cambridge Analytica story broke and asked how morale was. Went downhill from there.
STAR every single interview.
Don't spend 15 minutes of the 30 minute interview answering my "tell me about yourself" question. It's just an icebreaker. For christsake this happens even when I say "in about a minute" and over the phone you people will refuse to be interrupted.
On second thought, keep doing this so I can continue screening you weirdos out.
Maybe you should ask better questions then.
Say what they expect to hear. That is the culture these interviews have created.
Donāt try to pretend you make no mistakes. Making them is a big part of your growth experience so you need to show you are aware and can learn from it.
DO connect your answer to behavioral question to one of the job's responsibility. DON'T boast in a way that you're smarter than the CEO
Don't call people you have worked with an asshole.
Donāt mention tc or gtfo.
