Does accessing unemployment benefits by GC holder impact Citizenship application?

I was recently layed off and I was suggested to apply for unemployment benefits. I have a GC, would accessing unemployment benefits impact my citizenship application? Thanks

Was that Before Trump or After Trump?

Does this matter?

Listen to google, not google engineers: https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/receiving-public-benefits-travel-potential-inadmissibility-green-card-holder.html And ask a lawyer for legal advice too. e.g.: "Immigration officials are also supposed to ignore the receipt of certain types of benefits, such as most non-cash benefits, unemployment, and health benefits (unless the health benefits involve long-term residence in a nursing home or mental institution), when making a public charge decision." By the way, benefits you pay into (such as social security, unemployment, medicare/health) are insurance programs you paid for, not net costs on society. That's why they are generally not considered public charge issues.

Unemployment and expanded Medicaid are not subject to "means" test. They will not be used against the beneficiary in the future.

No, you and your employer are paying for it not the government.

Not really? I think unemployment due to lay-off is different from taking SSI benefits. Usually unemployment is paid for by a company.
