I work at Google at L5 level as a Product manager. Thinking of switching now to get some faster growth and also a good hike (35 percent hike with google matched stocks that are not yet vested plus incremental stocks). This opportunity is in Europe and I currently work in Ireland. Both servicenow and VMware are offering competitive packages. Which company should I opt for if work life balance, team morale and cutting edge technology (great projects) are on top of my list? Current base comp- 110k Years of experience as a PM - 3-4 years Total years of experience including data science lead - 12 New base compensation - 140K and will increase if I negotiate further The variable/stocks part I am not concerned as that is being matched. This is non Zurich salary. Compensation in Switzerland is quite high. So please don't compare it with that . #productmanagement #compensation #google #offerletter
Is Hooli’s cafeteria not good in Europe?
Do you remember the opening scene from the Walking dead? There were tons of vehicles trying to escape from the city and the other lane was completely empty. All VMware employees are trying to escape now and you are taking the empty route. Food for thought.
Interesting. Are you originally from Europe? Is google making you to work hard? Long hours?
Yes I am from Europe. Nothing like that. I am just looking for a jump in Seniority with more product exposure more ambiguity more autonomy.
Got it.
ServiceNow is in a good place for Product and many opportunities to grow.
Run away from vmware There is so much uncertainty and morals are down and everyone is leaving.
Did you end up leaving G? I am trying to do the opposite :)

I can definitely say VMware -> Broadcom transition will be a nightmare. The morale is low across most teams at VMware
