Hello Blind, Currently I’m a contractor at Google for Google Cloud. I am very happy with my role and I believe I have an amazing team. I enjoy my work and there is a slight opportunity to go full time later on (but ofcourse it’s an assumption) Recently, I got two offers for similar roles. The first one is at Twitter and it’s a contract to hire role. The team members I have met during the interviews have been amazing and gave me good first impressions. This is permanently remote. I also have an offer from DocuSign for a full-time role. This is for SF downtown. The interview went well but was dragged over two months. The team seems good. Offers: Google (Current position, contract) TC: 120K Twitter (Contract to hire) TC: 128K DocuSign (Full Time) Base: 115K RSU: 100k (Vested over 4 years) Bonus: 8% Ofcourse I know the full time position is a no brained compared to contracting but I don’t want to lose the chance of getting a full time chance at Google in the future (two of my teammates who were contractors previously were converted)
Do you want money or not?
Go FTE at DocuSign. If Google cannot make you a FTE ASAP—move the fuck on. They can do that, you have proven your worth. Congrats on the offers.
Honestly, if I were you, I’d rather try for a switch from contract to full time than a contract to contract switch. Congratulations on your offers!
My understanding was that contract jobs pay a higher salary than full time because FTE gets lots of other benefits which contract jobs don’t get. Surprised to see your full time offer base is almost the same as your TC at contract jobs.
And actually even more surprised you even think it’s worthy of asking. It’s a no brainer. Just take the FTE offer. You can go back to google any time later.
Sure. Go for Google TVC position And regret
A bird in the hand…
Always take full time
Google full time requires full swe loop interview. So you have to crack it anyway to get into google.
