Hi Blind Members, Recently got offer from Early Warning LLC(Zelle) accepted it but changing my mind now. Getting Jump of 40-50K including base bonus and 401K no stocks/equity on the table. 1. I’m full remote in current job in case I join them need to go office 2 days a week this year and might be 4 days next year. Office from my home is 35 miles so 70 miles of travel each day almost 1 hour 30 mins to travel work life bal will be troubled. 2. Can easily manages kids school drop and pick up easily in my current role in case I join them it will be challenging and will need to rush for pick up. 3. Comfortable in current job know teams and know leadership team here. PTO is flexible and cool team but In terms of Techology stack Zelle is much better. Currents role is more BAU. Shall I think more wait until visa transfer(not yet started) done completely and then I deny it or better just tell them today and say I rethink my decision and reprioritize my priority on personal side and want to stick with current organization.? Is worth of taking change for Just $40-45K which nearly boils down $1K increase in paycheck after taxes has been deducted. Deloitte is stable can bear the recession compare to Early Warning which is just 1500 employees and revenue is just in million $s but it’s Co-own by 7 major national bank Bank of America Chase Wells Fargo PNC and few more Still confused need Blind member inputs here
Are consulting firms generally seen as safe in downturns? Thought it was the opposite
They have multiple projects I’m not in consulting
Will you go back to Deloitte and tell them about your offer to get more money? Just curious…
I don’t think so they will counter it and I will create a dent by telling them.
Tell them you’ve been thinking a lot about the commute and decided it just won’t work. FWIW, I wouldn’t do that commute 2 days a week unless it was double the TC or more, and and probably would pass regardless of the TC if it was 4 days a week.
Thanks
Make it a poll. Sounds like the only really pro of the new job is just the numbers on your bank. You work to live not live to work. I’ll vote for staying where you at right now
Thanks for your inputs attached the poll.
