Got offer from Microsoft India as L61. I was expecting L62. Please help in evaluating. I did not find it a major bump as stocks seems to be too low. Background - YOE:5 Current Base - 21LPA Variable - 2-4 LPA T.C - 23-25 LPA MSFT Offer Base - 24LPA Stocks - 35K in 4 years. Bonus - 3+2( Divided in 2 years) Target Variable Bonus -0 to 20% The total compensation barely goes to 35 LPA. I told them MSFT gives 35k stocks when it comes to my Campus 5 years back. She say campus we offer high compensation in campus. And they can't give 75k stocks.And it will be 35k only.Take or reject. On the top of that I was told to join start up if I need more salary hike. Height of unprofessionalism. Do they want to hire or reject?Shall I reject it? Or accept and get competitive offer? I also had one final round of MSFT with some other team next week and there I performed well in first 3 rounds and may be I can get L62 but not sure though. What should be the good move? If I accept it then may be I am not eligible for other team's final round next week.Not sure how it works. The hm/recruiter can see if you are interviewing with a different team at msft and they will probably coordinate. I am surprised you were able to double loop, haven't really heard much of this happening recently.
Stocks I think are too less. My friend was offered 90k for L60. And 50-60k is common for L60 itself. So don't budge easily.
With competing offers, there is possibility of level change as well depending on your interviews. The TC can go much higher with L62

For msft, norm is they dont really budge unless competing offers. But recently, they did, for one of my friends. So no harm in trying. You should definitely state some points as to why you deserve more than this!
How much they increase for you friend? I was expecting an offer that should be somewhere 42-46.But the current offer barely reaches 35.
I joined at 5.5 YOE with 24 base and 60k USD stocks . You can definitely negotiate on stocks
I got a low ball offer too despite having competing. Got base 26 and 50k$ stocks barely even going above my current ctc. I have seen lowball offers made mainly from Bing teams. If you get Azure they pay good. Do not accept such a huge lowball unless desperate. Makes no sense. If you go to any other firm like Amazon and Uber you will get around 47-50. Yes you need to work more but well if you want pay they are the pay masters.
I think you are being Leastballed, not lowballed. Get a competing offer, else MSFT won't negotiate, and you will regret 2 years later for falling in their trap.
There have been many L61 posts recently on Blind. Check the nos. Most have stocks > 50k

Yes that's a lowball, you should get some competing offers. Search for India on blind sort by recent and check a 2 YOE Data Scientist @ MS with 70k stocks offer.
I dont know why they do this.Even a fresh grad get this much of stocks
