FY24 guidance raised, stock is up 8% after hours
I don’t get it, why do folks hate MongoDB?
Because this is Blind
They built a reputation early on for overselling their technology (WEBSCALE!) and being arrogant and rude with their tech support services (back when they were 10gen). They’ve calmed down a lot in recent years and the cloud offering is quite good. You can shard your database across AWS, GCP, and Azure seamlessly. It’s not perfect for any one application but good enough for a lot of different applications, so you only have to learn 1 instead of a bunch of different ones. They’re able to laugh at themselves for the webscale stuff these days and be a lot more normal. Source: worked there for a year.
I hope you're having a good week so far. I wanted to touch base because the MongoDB team reviewed the initial feedback and after careful consideration, unfortunately, have decided not to move forward at this time. While I understand this may be disappointing news, I would like to add that this wasn't an easy decision and the team also had positive feedback. We also want to be mindful of your time and let you know about the decision before putting you through additional interviews that can be time-consuming and stressful. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know. Again, we appreciate you taking the time to meet with the team. Everyone enjoyed speaking with you and learning more about your background and experience. We wish you success in finding the right opportunity.
I’m stealing this. Thank you
