Series A mean at least 3-5 year from IPO. The option worth nothing at the moment

sagacity Dec 27, 2019Depending on the tech stack, that’s about average for IC. The bonus is nice, but don’t count on it. Same with the options. Too many variables in the potential worth of options to consider them anything more than a lottery ticket. If you like the work and the people, and the work hour expectations aren’t too crazy, do it. You’ll stretch skills in a start-up.
I have no clue why they all give 20k options.

Bayarea....my friends also got 20k options in other startups. I wonder how do they get this number
