If you’re considering Salesforce, please think it through. I’ve had so many regrets joining and I will list out all the pros and cons below: Pros: - Decent WLB but depends on team. Teams that don’t generate much profit have better WLB (non profit cloud, productivity, UI teams, industrials) Cons: - Low pay and 0 refreshers unless you’re a senior or in a leadership role. Even so, you have to fight hard for one and it’s only a small amount - All the competent engineers have left for FAANG in the past year or so. The remaining ones are lazy and don’t give a crap. Hiring bar has gone down significantly and it’s a total joke. New hires are incompetent and can’t even code. - Outdated technologies and many teams use internal SF languages like Apex, Aura, LWC which are not transferable at all. - lots of attrition and politics. People are leaving left and right. Low Morale. - promotion is not based on merit and how hard you’ve worked. - build process is a total joke. It breaks all the time. - Working with incompetent people is emotionally draining and will kill your brain cells. If you’re in Salesforce now, I recommend gtfo. It’s a sinking ship. Tc: 🥜
This is what happens when your company becomes friendly to the 'rest and vest' folks
Salesforce is now almost paying better than MS and adobe.. in majority of cases.. very surprised to see this post. Can you pls let us know your Tc and yoe
Work here is dull and uninteresting. Why would anyone want to work here if it wasn’t for pay. Pay isn’t that great either and it’s not worth killing your brain cells working with lazy people who don’t give a crap. It’s mentally draining.
literally watching same story unfold at Okta
Why are you saying that it's a sinking ship.. Salesforce marketCap is high even after fall of shares
Salesforce has products that are widely adopted by all kinds of businesses. Would take complete incompetency/complacency for SF to lose its market share. Bullish.
Salesforce is still better MSFT, adobe, Nvidia and the likes. Work is always team dependent and based on personal preferences. Except for the refreshers Salesforce seems like a good deal
Same story unfolding at workday. So difficult as a program manager to deal with rest and vest folks who tattletale and cry to their managers if you flag their deliverable as a risk. As for salesforce, I received an offer recently for the remote benefit but damn, TC would be an 18% paycut and that was after pushing hard on negotiation. Couldn’t even give me a 4k sign on because of their org’s “limits”
I disagree, I agree
Op, what is your tc and level at Salesforce?
