Got a verbal and written (email) offer from Snapchat earlier this week. I wanted to accept it and sent an email to the recruiter a few days later. No response for 2 days. After multiple emails to recruiter and HM, the recruiter finally called me and said that the direction of the team has changed and they are withdrawing the offer. How can the direction of the team change in 2 days? Can someone from Snap provide insight into why this happened? Quite sad since I was excited about working at Snap. Offer TC 380
One more example of Snap withdrawing offers: Check out this post! "Offer withdrawn Snap (Tech Industry)" https://us.teamblind.com/s/jYuyCdtS
Careful here
Wtf, that’s so messed up
A lot of red flags. You probably avoided a bullet tbh.
Yeah. Snap's a shitty place is what I hear.
Not as bad as amazon 😂 and I came from there
What function and what team?
Offer disappears as soon as you see it. That's a new Snap feature 😂
Because TikTok avoided ban, Snap’s plan with you changed. You’re most likely a big fish. Sorry for you! The higher you grow such big things affect more and more.
Sorry you had to go through that. What do you expect from a company still struggling to make money after almost a decade of existence? Hope you find something more stable.
Sounds like they have amateurs doing their hiring. Not managing the process effectively. Either they didn’t account for a decision maker’s input, discovered they couldn’t afford you, or (and I hate to think this way) they are using candidates for intel and experience. This is why I never understand people who have an iota of emotional attachment or onus to a business or its employees. Two weeks notice why?? Scared to practice interview with companies for what? Scared to reject an offer why? Do you. They will absolutely look out for themselves.
This is me, I have to put my two weeks in next week and I am worried about how my bosses will react
And some people say you should never renege an offer. I say f these companies, they don't give a damn about rescinding your offer.
Yeah, but if you renege the company can blacklist you forever.
Blacklist them back!
