I accepted an offer but recently just heard back from 4 companies to start interviewing. Should I entertain the idea or not just so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on possible opportunity? Also if a better offer comes around, how bad would it if I rescind the offer? I got the job through a agency so I am afraid of certain backlash on that.
Companies also play many games with applicants. So don't give up on a great opportunity for a company who will easily find another person.
I think it is a good practice. I just got an offer from Amazon and have 3 first phone interviews lined up. I would choose Amazon over all of them and have to accept it before I can get to offer stage but still interviewing.
Don't be reta*rded. Think about it this way. If a stellar candidate went to the company today and can prove that he or she is better than you, the company won't hesitate to rescind your offer, or lay you off tomorrow so they can take on the better candidate. So why the fuck would you hesitate to interview? This is the 21st century. Loyalty to a company is non existent. If the company gives zero shiets about you and your wellbeing, then you gotta protect your own bottom line and well being. Tldr. Go interview. Find a better opportunity. At the very least, an offer in your hand means you better understand your market worth, and you have better leverage over your employer
Here's the thing. If you like the offer you got, and had no second thoughts... Don't do this to yourself. Interviewing and all that goes with it can really mess with your head and make you unhappy with what you have. Sure it can also reinforce that you are indeed in the right place. But for my money, I would say that I just accepted an offer that I'm happy with and really want to focus on my new role. It's polite It's accurate. It makes many of those same recruiters want you even more. Then ask them to check back in a year. They will appreciate the direct and clear response.
Life is short, interview away. If the job is at a large corporation, no one cares, leave if you get a better offer.

Why do you need an agency? If you rescind an accepted offer, you might get blacklisted
I was working with a agency to be place in full time position.
OP he is not talking about amazon 😂 I'm sure you can interview. Companies do a lot of shady stuff. So I feel it's a fair game.
