Want to get into Tech

Hi guys, about time I make a post about this. I just learned about this app on 6/14. I’ve been with Boeing for 2.5 years now. I need to be challenged like at a large tech company, it’s where I thrive. I have a BS EE degree. 3 ye professionally. I’d count a couple more for college since I have tons of lab experience and have used industry software throughout college. I know how to use a vast amount of electronics lab equipment, as well as industry software. I like all types of design, test, validation, and enjoy coding. Have used state of the art lab equipment that costs $100k - $350k and $250k - $2M a pop for RF testing between 1 MHz to 220 GHz. Currently working in the space industry and want out. Am being underpaid to put it lightly. Started at Global Foundries at about $50k as a RF/ Microwave test engineer for 6-7 months. Been with Boeing for 2.5 years. Electrical Design & Analysis Engineer for 2 years one month: base salary $65,000. Associate Hardware Software Integration Engineer position for 4 months now: base salary: $88,250. Overtime is hourly equivalent + $6.50 an hour. 10% 401k match, vested immediately RSUs: current value $6,686 /3 will vest end of 2023. Don’t care about this little amount when I can make way more else where. I’ve received offers a few months ago for around $107k for Honeywell and Northrop Grumman. Didn’t counter and declined because didn’t know if I actually wanted the job or to be in the space industry, honestly just applied randomly and didn’t think I’d actually take them seriously. I don’t want to be in the space or defense industry. Private and tech companies are way better. I have been seeing that I can earn way more according to the internet and you all. I want/ need to get into tech so I can be challenged and provide value. Apple, Amazon, Meta, Facebook, Google, etc. Am starting to study to get my AWS certification to show willingness to learn and it’s needed in society. Have looked into learning python. What are the best certification(s) websites to learn coding? Udemy, Coursera, MIT/ Harvard certifications? I want to learn to code. I’ve applied to Apple, Amazon, Meta (they are on a freeze currently as you know), Google, and Microsoft. Have had an interview with Amazon a month ago, but they didn’t think I was a good fit and I didn’t think I was a good for that specific role. Have had a couple referrals on here so far, were after I applied to the positions. I am interested in moving to the greater Seattle area. Advice? People needed on your team? Feel free to DM me. Thanks in advance. #Tech #Apple #Amazon #Google #Meta #microsoft #Engineering
